Colobus in KaruraWith funding from African Fund for Endangered Wildlife and expertise from The Institute of Primate Research, 31 colobus monkeys have been reintroduced to Karura Forest and are now roaming freely in five groups. The monkeys have been removed from rural areas near the Aberdare and Kipipiri ranges, where the monkeys are being killed by farmers. The next phase of the project hopes to move more threatened monkeys, as studies have shown that Karura can support up to 100 individuals.
